Default 1931 Tudor door and rear window anti rattle

I just purchased these from Snyders and noticed the slots don’t match exactly around the screw boss, should they or do I have the wrong parts? Also the rear rubber does not touch the glass unless it is slid out toward the glass. Could the inner metal it attaches to be adjusted toward the glass? Is there anything on the outside of the glass that seals from water and debris going inside the body or doors?

I hope all of that made sense, thanks.

You're talking about the A-19008-C door/window seals. Unfortunately, NO the rubber does not touch the glass, so these are not useful as anti-rattlers. Also unfortunately, there are no seals on the outside of the windows to stop debris and water from the inside of the body. The doors had drain holes in the bottom for water to exit and, specifically on Tudor sedans, there were open areas between the inner body subrails and the lower outer quarter panels just in front of the rear wheel well to allow water to exit. Remember, this was the technology in 1930. In the earlier days of the automobile cars had fold-down tops and no side windows. Worry about rainwater getting in the door???????? How about rainwater getting on the driver/passenger!!!!

I’ll get my parts list and check the part# but I’ll believe you are correct. The door seals touch really tight but the rear windows may not be able to at all. So the cars as new, the seals didn’t touch the rear windows at all? Seems like a waste of money on Henry’s part.
Thanks for reply

Update on Tudor rear window anti rattle,,,,,,,.

I purchased the part # listed for my 1931 and they aren’t even close to touching the rear windows. I guess it’s better than nothing it as might stop a child from dropping something down in the window well but I’m not so sure. I ordered A-79502 W.S. Rubber 1928-29 Briggs Windshield rubber and took the stock rubber out and I believe it can be used as in front window anti rattles replacement. I then put the Briggs rubber in the aluminum anti rattles and it touches the glass now. It’s not super easy but a little Pam cooking spray on the rubber and pulling here and there it’s in. Things will now NOT drop in the window well on the inside of the car. It should also cut down on noise.
