when did "phillips head" screws become common? when the family sh#t-box had a loose screw, Dad would always say "you need a special screwdriver for those" and then just tighten it the best he could using the nail file in his keychain fingernail clipper. the repair usually lasted a couple of weeks until the screw vibrated out and was lost forever. |
