Saw it after it was found and again after it was restored.

Hello ,Edsel Ford doesn’t get the credit he deserves for the styling of Ford Products of the prewar era , including my personal favorite, the 1941 Continental. The prototype was Edsel s personal car , when friends saw it they wanted one too , so limited production started in 1940 , using modified Lincoln Zephyr convertible parts .

Bob Gregorie put down in drawing and clay what Edsel described to him but he made a few changes of his own on that one. Bob's book is a very good one to have. The panels were custom made at the Ford Airport where the Trimotor was manufactured.

Gotta love the "jet inspired" comment when the car was built 5 years before the first jet airplane. These youtubers need to do a little research for the AI scripts they create to tie a bunch of still pictures into a click bait "video".

Bruce, The video describes the engine and engine change. I believe a Mercury was put in for more power, 125 hp vs. 75 hp for the original Ford V8.

The original engine was probably not the average production engine.
Edsel would have been able to use the parts being developed for the Indy and Elgin race cars. |
