Default How to sell

Sorry for dumb question, but how do I list a Model A for sale on Fordbard? I don't see any site for selling.

If you look at the top of your Fordbarn page, there will be a link called "The Swap Meet". Click on that button which should provide you with several other clickable links. Hopefully you can roll on from there.

There are lots of other ways to sell your car too. Craigslist, eBay, Bring a Trailer, the MARC and MAFCA magazines and their websites, Hemmings.

Unless it's a rare model or fine point award winner selling local may be your best bet. Start with the closest MARC and MAFCA chapters to ask them to list it in their newsletters. Craigslist you pay for the ad and will get a lot of low ballers and flippers - I bought our last A on CL. The seller had told me he'd blown off 5 "buyers" before and 1 after I'd contacted him.
If you go FleaBay or Bring A Trailer (BAT doesn't accept every car) you'll need to have a lot more pictures and a very detailed description.
Finally selling at a distance will require the buyer to have the car shipped to them. This will increase their total cost - so a car worth $20,000 to someone local may only be worth $17,000 to someone that has to spend $3,000 on delivery.

If you’ve never listed something for sale on eBay or Craigslist read up on it first. Along with earnest shoppers you may encounter some of the worst examples of humanity. Basic rules to protect yourself: buy a cheap “burner” phone so your real phone number is not revealed. Never give your address. Offer to meet the supposed shopper in front of your local police station. Do not accept anything except cash. Not even a cashier’s check, which can be reversed out of your account if the buyer claims fraud.

In North Carolina you need a notary to witness the signature on the title. When I have sold a car here I went to my bank, which has a notary, with the buyer. The money was transferred at the bank the notary witnesses the signature on the title. The new owner can then go to the DMV to transfer the title. If needed the seller can go with the buyer to the DMV. Once the money is transferred there is no going back.

I used WeBeAutos.com and they were great. They handle advertising and even vetting potential buyers and offers. All paperwork goes through them.
I used them twice and appreciated how Mike Runnels (sp?) facilitated both times. Sales and transferring of funds went flawlessly. Chap
Check them out. https://www.webeautos.com/

I have found the mkt soft at this time.
In the last yr have used Facebook and sold 7 vehicles. Craigslist is all but extinct. Ebay is also pretty dead, but very reasonably priced. 19. for any car under 10k and 39. for any car under 20k. Mostly dealers on ebay at this point.
I did sell a vicky on ebay about 6 months ago, but had listed three cars to make one sale.

If I put a car on Craigslist it usually will sell quickly and locally....a couple of emails and a phone conversation is all it takes.
Marketplace works but you have to deal with multiple messages 24hrs a day, everyone wants more pictures, low ball offers, stupid questions like ....can I drive it 8hrs home?
