Default Fuel Pump

The original fuel pump on my 1940 85hp outlet valve was sticking after sitting for a while.I decided to rebuild it. The valves in it are not like what rebuild kits show. The valves are like fiber washers with little springs holding them in place. This pump has the staggerd inlet/outlet ports, has no glass bowl, and has the drain petcock. the number on the mounting flange is 1537383. The green bible does not.. show this kind. Could the kind that comes in the rebuild kit replace the fiber ones.
Thanks Ron Walker
