How do I use this for setting valve lash? It has the number of the firing order but I’m not sure what valve to adjust. Intake or exhaust or both.

A tool from way back to set flathead valves. It bolts on where the distributor mounts and shows which cylinder to set the valves on. It fits the 42-48 crab distributors and with the later style cams with bolt on cam gears. It will not fit the early cams with the press on gears. It is missing some paint but is undamaged otherwise. |

It’s sounds like l can set both intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder at the same time?

Yes. I have one as well and I think I have a copy of the instructions. If you notice, there is a large number and small number. One of these represents the intake and the other exhaust. From memory, I forget which is which. Let me see if I can find the instruction sheet.

Instructions would help. Mine doesn’t have large and small numbers.

I bought a wheel a number of years ago and made the below sketch. I think to be most accurate, that the crankshaft pulley should be marked in 45° increments, then starting at TDC, stop at every 45° of crank rotation and adjust the valve indicated by my sketch.
