Default Hood shelves to radiator splash apron screws

I am getting ready to install the radiator splash apron on my car. I checked Mick Isbell's Std Hwd booklet and it says the screws have a French head. I don't know what a French head is. I though the screws were oval head and nickel plated. Can some one enlighten me to what the difference is between a French head and an oval head screw is?
Thanks

Rusty - I think a French head is similar to an oval head, but the French head has a flat underside while an oval head is typically a countersunk underside. I think the attached might be what you are looking for.

Since Rusty brought "hood shelves" into the conversation, I think he's mounting a 28/29 radiator apron. The proper ones for 28/29 are 1/4 x 20. The screws shown from Snyder are proper for 30/31 only and are 1/4 X 28. Unfortunately, this doesn't help the explanation of what a French head is but averts buying the wrong screws.

The car is a 29 phaeton and uses oval head type screws. Thanks to BobBader and JayJay for responding.

Canadian parts book is called out L and M as an oval head machine screw.
I've always considered L to be French head, an M to be oval head. notice the depth of the slots. or I could be wrong.

Thanks Jim for the response. They look pretty much the same. I don't know why Ford would use French style machine screws instead of regular oval head screws. I don't know where you can buy the French head screws.
