Default What is it?

As my pile of parts continues to shrink, I seem to have another "What is it"?
I tjink I should know where it goes and what it is but alas, I do not.

These go vertically each side of the grille on 40 fords and similar models.

1939 deluxe and 1940 all passenger car and pickup trucks except 60HP.

Air deflectors as Mart has advised, these go between the grille and fender.
