Looks nice. I am having clutch trouble myself and don't know what to do. I had the pressure plate( original three finger style from Shoe Box Central) clutch disk, throw out bearing and pilot bearing. This is on a 50 model. I had bad clutch shudder before and after having everything replaced. Wish I would have bought. Billett flywheel and diaphragm pressure plate.
Looks nice what you made. |

What is the purpose of the new throwout bearing guide? Did you need a different bearing, or a different offset?

Did you have the PP and flywheel balanced afterwards? I would sure recommend it.

Gotta love the adaptability of the Ford hogshead.

What is the advantage of a diaphragm clutch. I have an 11 inch Clutch in my 40 with no issues. Are the majority of V-8 owners short ,98 lb people.

a 11" centrifugal/ original type clutch is fine as long as you don't try and drag with it lol, they have a nasty tendency to not want to release at RPMs above 4000, it can get hard on the tranny. That would be one reason I could think of.

Diaphragm clutches tend to take less pedal pressure to actuate than long clutches. This is especially true in higher performance applications running at higher RPMs.
