39 standard coupe side mirrors

Hi all, my car has the side view mirrors mounted on the door frame, just below the drip mouldings. I did not mount them here.
Problem is, they are maxed out for adjustment. My thought is they worked for my shorter father.
They use one small hole (approx5/16) to mount. I would be open the goose neck mounted on hinge, but going this route would require body work to fill the holes. Can anyone make recommendations for a mirror that might work?
