Default 1951 Fordomatic

How do I check the transmission fluid in my 1951 Ford with Fordomatic? I don't see a dipstick.

Well, you need to peel back the floor covering on the passsenger side floor and the dipstick and fill tube are under an access panel in or near the hump. Not very convenient for sure.

I have been told, but never done it myself, that a later Fordomatic pan from 53-54-??? can be swapped onto a 51 or 52 Ford to get the dip stick tube that comes up in the engine compartment.
