Default oil filler cap

First time I have seen a cap with 3 screens. Have you seen it before?

I believe that is a homemade piece. Most all screens used in any oil/crankcase adaption would have soldered edges around any and all holes, as not to let any small strands of wire to enter engine. That doesn't.

That is a "Breather Baffle" after-market accessory to help prevent oil from splashing out, or oil vapors from escaping out, of the oil filler tube. Here is the one that was offered by APCO for Model A Fords (NOS with its original box):

Here is a style we found in the back. Came from a very old auto supply store in Sacramento. No numbers or manufacturer markings. Have several. Plain Steel with baffle.
