Default door check strap

I have a 1934 model 40 cabriolet. Recently the door check strap broke on the driver door. I have removed the door panel, but can anyone tell me how to access the body panel where the hinges are. removing the seat appears to be a big job.

Thanks

You will have to remove the panel behind the door jamb.If I remember correctly the rubber check strap slides through the slot on the door then through the slot of the door jamb. Then its secured with a flat bracket with 2 screws. The repo rubber check straps are too soft and have a tendency to fold when you shut the door as the get hung up.The originals were much stiffer.Lubing the slot might help.
