I am trying to remove the engine mount from the stand. The wing nut came off easily. Now I can't figure out how to remove the rest.

Notch plate has keyway all way thru. Pull it off. Shaft has key in its keyway but is short, not to end of shaft.

So, that 'notch plate' has those big notches where a dog drops in at each of the normal repair positions for our flatheads? No wonder you guys all like them so much. The Harbor Fright ones provide absolutely no 'pride of ownership' (or feeling of safety).

Ya get what you pay for. The antique KRW stands are expensive but well worth it.

I just wish they didn't take up so much real estate in the garage. They need a dedicated space

To get mine apart at times I wedge the end of a big flat blade screw driver between the end notched plate and the main body.

That rear plate with the notches should just slide off. Then the shaft and engine mount should slide out the front. It might take a couple of screwdrivers to gently get plate to slide off its keyway. I have three of those KRW engine mounts, none of them came with their bases. I had to make the one base. Another one I have bolted to the floor.

Just FYI, I will have several NOS KRW engine stand heads for sale at the Turlock, Ca Swap meet Jan 25th-26th. Also an early and a late tool tray.
1 V-8 60 head, one SV-40 Fat Head and a few of the Lincoln V-12 adapter plates for adapting the V-8 head to hold the V12. Plus one universal head with the two arms for holding 3rd members etc. I'm in the building across from the snack bar in the corner by the roll up door. Will have other KRW tools as well. Come on by and take a look.
