My 1930 CC Pickup had a recent restoration with new seat springs. Unfortunately for me, I don't fit behind the wheel very well. Instead of going on a diet, I'd like to replace the seat back section with a piece of plywood with a foam pad and the fabric over. This would give me about three inches. I don't want to take apart the one I have because it is nice.
I am looking for black-brown two-tone cross cobra grain artificial leather "seat back" material. Yes Classique has it for but its at a crazy price... Anyone out there have some laying around? Thanks for reading |

I'm afraid you are going to find most upholstery materials, especially the faux leathers, are crazy prices. I used to do interior work but the material cost got so high I quit.

The one you have is probably way over padded with foam unless it was restored to blue ribbon specs. My guess is that you could probably gain your 2-3 inches of room by having the existing cushion re-done to factory specs. The “new” seat springs might also be the problem.

Hit walmart- sometimes you get lucky in their upholstery section and yes, its cheap.
