Turn Signals

I would like to put turn signals on my A. I reworded it with a new loom but it did have turn signal wires included in the loom. I would like to buy a rocker type turn signal switch like they have on ATV’s and mount on dash. Buy a 6 volt flasher and mount under the dash. Then run wiring to 6volt LED lights mounted on front and rear. I have not been able to find a kit that is 6 volt..
Does anyone out there think it will work and if not how to do it without using the colum mounted switch.

so far, they work great and easy to install.

I have this turn signal installed. The really nice thing about it , I have a hidden spring loaded toggle switch behind the dash. The system is self canceling after 15-30 or 45 second unless you have brakes on. Then self cancels after your preselected time after brake release.

Hi I have used virtual same wiring and this is a simple system to install. The head lamps I have are non standard, have led lamps, and small park, and turn indicators in the lamp shell. I have a 12v system and electronic flasher, with a vintage type center off turn switch.

50: It all depends on your thinking. I put turn signals on my '29 rdstr. It is my own design and works well and is HAS TO BE SIMPLE as I designed it myself. Regular 6 v A system. Used standard A tail lights and fabricated 2 front bumper brackets for 5" amber lens lights as I wanted them to be seen. 6 v flasher from auto parts store and a spool of Model A wiring from Snyders. Toggle switch mounted to steering column. Spent about an hour looking at the car spaces where wire runs and drawing up a simple diagram. Fun to do yourself instead of someone's kit. Just a suggestion. Bill

Looking for a less expensive setup. This kit does not include lights. A flasher and a toggle switch would be a lot less.

I realize modern safety is important but to me I do hand signals as it's part of driving the model A experience!!!

I do hand signals too but people think I'm just being friendly, so I also use turn signals lights. Mine are well hidden so as not do detract from the Model A look. I don't care for those marker lights on the bumpers.

I have been using a turn signal controller on my antique vehicles for many years that I consider to work very well and is easy to install. The unit is compact and easy to wire.
Go to https://www.smelectrotech.com/ and select products for a complete listing of features. This unit works on 6 or 12 volt positive or negative ground and can handle incandescent and LED lights. I have the control mounted behind the drivers side kick panel and use a momentary switch mounted hidden behind the dash as the directional switch. A column mounted lever type switch is also offered. The control has many functions that other units do not offer plus its made in USA.

Yes, that is the same as John suggested in post #2.
