Default Haven't been on here

I haven't been on here since last Friday. I was in the hands of the Lord. I had a pulmonary embolism in my left lung and one in both legs. After lots of blood thinners and hospital care, I am back home. I was so out of breath last Friday I knew I was not going to make it, but after an e-mail to my Dr and her, saying I needed to get my a$$ to the ER, I'm still here. Older and wiser.

Not much fun. I had two PEs in September, a week or so after knee surgery. Just feeling back to semi-normal now. Take them seriously, I didn't realize what was happening so waited until the next day to go in. Just about the last bad decision a guy can make! Don't plan on too much strenuous activity for a few weeks.

So...did the doctors fix your lung...or did the "lord" prescribe the blood thinners and an effective treatment? When you run out of gas on a country back road do you call AAA ...or a preacher? I am happy to hear that you are well...but you really need to figure out cause and effect realities before you call your local preacher to fill your fuel tank.

Oldspert, So glad to have you here. Take care.

I turn 80 at the end of this month (November 2024). I take a baby aspirin daily (86 mg). My grandfather had a stroke at 86 which I am trying to avoid. The danger in taking a baby aspirin daily is that I could get a brain bleed if get hit in the head. I get bruises easily. If you are considering taking a baby aspirin or any blood thinner, consult your doctor.

I give most, if not all, of the expertise to the doctors that have the training to take care of any medical problem that arise. Just trusting in the Lord to give them the ability to get the education to fulfill that.
Somehow I feel you are not a somewhat religious person, but I do know there are some things that have to be trusted that happened that are unexplainable medically.

That was a close call - very pleased you dodged that bullet but PLEASE, don't try to tough out anything that makes you feel worse than you did yesterday. Not many of us get a second chance.

This was my second chance at cheating the reaper. In 2019 I had an Aortic Aneurysm Dissection. I was airlifted by helicopter to Baylor hosp in Dallas for emergency surgery before it burst. Best and very qualified doctors saved me then too.

You must know those doctors by their Christian names and those of their family.
