Default Early front hub

Question is the early 1928 (AR) front hub same as the later ones , I know the drum is different. Friend has a stuffed one & trying to fix by replacement one , So will the (AR) early 28 drum fit & work on the later Model A hub ,
Thanks Derek in NZ
