![]() This photo is of a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster - Sydney 1933 It is easy to tell the differences between 1928 and 1929 Model A open cars. The 1928 models lack external door handles. |

The 1929 sales brochure also shows the fenders and splash aprons not black. The car in the picture has non-black fenders and horn.

And funny hub caps. Looks like it was customized.
The luggage rack is interesting. Does anyone have a photo of one showing more detail?

They look small, but could they be 1932 wheels with after market hubcaps?

The stock hubcaps look like they are poking out from the middle of a trim ring to me.

Looks like 21” rims to me with the accessory hub caps that were common back then.

Some Australian cars had coloured mudguards and wheels, as well as pin striping on the trailing edge of the bonnet louvres. Depending on body colour, mudguards could be one of three shades of green, one shade of brown, or black. Wheels could be cream, red or black.

No one noticed the rumble fender step plate on the “passenger” side in both the car pic and ad.

Thats where they are on RHD cars, the tail light is on the right side on blocks you stepping in, as well as not being on the road trying to get in the dickie seat as well. As it is an Australian car, it is a dickie seat and not a rumble seat.

I know that, I'm just surprised most didn't catch it. It's a detail that most of us here don't realize, but matches left hand cars for the same reasons, getting out of the car curb side and not in traffic.
