Default WIX Fuel Filter

I'm trying to put a #33099 WIX filter in the glass bowl in my '28 roadster. The filter has a thin black disc with many small holes in its circumference at the top of it. How is this filter installed into the bowl?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Robert

I set the top of filter on the glass rim and put filter gasket on top of that and install the glass in the filter housing. The O.D. of the filter top is slightly larger than the I.D. of the glass bowl so the filter is captured by the filter housing and the glass bowl.

Thank GPierce. That worked for me, and I hope to go for a ride in it soon. It was too hot for that today.

Thanks again GPierce.

My wife and I took the car for a ride this morning and it ran fine. I was hoping for this because the bulb was filled with nasty looking dark red e-10 gas which is around 3 or 4 months old. The gas in the bulb looks clear to me now.

mcgarret

That's interesting. I bought several of these filters from an O'Reilly store about a year ago. They had to order them from another store in Missouri. It's weird that these other filters have the same part number.

I just bought a couple of them yesterday from the parts store. The part number on the Wix box is 3039.

This thing goes by many different part numbers, you can see a lot of them here: https://www.fuelfilter-crossreferenc.../BALDWIN/PF864
