Hi everyone - Today I worked for two hours trying to get the speedo drive gear inserted into the body of my new Mitchell overdrive unit. It appears to be about 1/4" short of being properly inserted, as the o-ring is still outside the casing. I have tried turning the gear a little and re-inserting many times. Also, I have tried lightly tapping the back with a punch and that didn't work either. I have a call into Mitchell but thought I'd try the Barn in case someone might have a suggestion for me. Thank you.

Wow - Steve Mitchell just called me back and suggested I use a 7/16 wrench and a hammer to drive the speedo drive into the housing. It worked like a charm. What good customer service.

Put a dab of sealer (I used "The Right Stuff") on the speedo cable set screw. Mine tended to drip a little there.

My set screw leaked a little too. I took it out and replaced it using sealer. I don't remember whether I used Permatex #2 or RTV but whatever I used, it worked.
