Can I please get confirmation as to the correct window regulator repair kit needed for my aussie 1940 Dlx Sloper.
I am converting my factory window mechanisms from the Aussie spline regulators over to the US square shaft versions. As there is neither reproduction handles or the regulators are invariably in poor usable condition. The production of these Ford Slopers only occurred for the year 1939 and 1940 in both the Std and Dlx versions. With certain body panels and parts used in both year models. Mine being the 40 Dlx the front doors, are the long doors with 40 vent window and 40 inner door panel. However the rear quarter windows utilised the 38/39 window regulators and same year inner door panel. So what I have (Aussie Factory) is 1940 front window mechanisms and 1938-39 tudor type rear window mechanisms. The first two pictures are my aussie window mechanism with shown regulators and the 2nd set of pictures is the US with the square shaft regulators. In my haste to get these mechanisms restored and ready to go I removed the aussie regulators and junked them without taken note of the tooth count on the regulators. I have also attached a picture of the reproduction regulator repair kits (6 tooth). I would like to order these to finish of the resto on these mechanisms and would like from the collective gurus here to confirm that these mechanisms take the 6 tooth regulator on both the 40 and 38-39, before I order and possibly order the wrong versions. All help appreciated,, thanks. Last edited by oz40; 10-20-2020 at 05:19 AM. Reason: grammar error |
