the 238 mph 'streamer that ran trick Model A block, etc... used 3!

but you got the right idea...4! the engine builder of the A engine said... "for getting max power out of an engine... takes 4 valves per cyl!" and backed that up with a comment about the new Corvette engine running per cyl...

4 valves!

My perspective is that it stops being a real Model A engine when converted to overhead valves or more than three main bearings.
Where do you draw the line and just put in a modern replacement engine?
I'm sure not too many will agree.

Opinions will vary, here's pics of a Model B for racing Vintage in EU.

Yes 16 valve and DOHC. ~300 HP.

Maybe not your Grand Fathers Model A....

Video of Roy Creel with his DOHC B engine on the dyno.
It must be something in the water..... John Neilson lives near Roy and also Carol Mosher. She and her husband Ron started Ford A Speed Technology F.A.S.T. https://www.hotforhotfours.com/index.htm

In the purest sense of originality, I would say you are correct! ~
