Hey Guys, I bought a miscellaneous box of some small stuff at an estate auction for a guy that passed away a few years ago. I know he had been a Ford tech in the past, but had his own backyard shop going into retirement that he worked until his death.
It has a part number of T65P 77330-A it looks like it has a built in torque limit of 10 ft.lbs. I believe it’s a Ford special tool issued in ‘65. That’s about all I know. Any help in this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

If you handed that to my Dad, he’d turn it over and say “I don’t know what it is, but it’s a good one”. And in the toolbox it’d go. I’ve still got some of those good ones.
Sorry I can’t be more help. |

MY 'GUESSTIMATE' is a period AT band adj tool.
I have most of the FORD SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS CATALOGS in my 'COBWEB CORNER'. Give me a few days and I will try to dig them out. |

Preset torque wrench for automatic transmission band adjustment. My guess is for model year 1965 and later.
The 1964 Falcon FSM (C4 transmission section) lists a special tool "T59P-77370-B or 7345" was used to tighten the adjusting screw on the low-reverse band "until it clicks. The tool is a preset torque wrench which clicks and overruns when the torque on the adjusting screw reaches 10 ft-lbs. Back off the adjusting screw exactly 3 full turns...." photo looks the same. |

Very few understand the need of band(s) adjustment(s) and proper AT servicing.

Hi KULTULZ,
Hope you have been well. I certainly agree with your understanding band adjustments. WOW what I would have given to have had a tool like that instead of trying to get the inch # torque wrench in the tight spots and then back of exactly 3 turns on one and 1 1/2 turns on the other! (I think) Take care! |

Same 'ol here. Thanx for asking.
If you are using a FORD WSM, it will show and list FORD SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS designed to be used in any special repair. They are available usually through OTC TOOLS. Any TOOL that has been deleted can usually be found on EvilBay. How is the FORD going? Nice to hear from you. |

Hi KULTULZ,
Glad you are hanging in there. I'm slowly trying not to mess with much but still look at projects and would love to have them. Haven't done much to my 40 and my sons 61 conv has been on stand still with other things. Hope he can get back on it soon. Take care. |

It's cool to have the OEM tools but I've managed to do most transmission work without them as long as I understand the function of the unit being repaired. The old Motors Manuals were good about that.
