Does anyone have any pictures of or information about the 37 Coupe seat? Was it a split seat or did it hinge and raise like the 40? Looking for a good seat to rebuild but don’t know what I’m looking for. Thanks Jeremy in Oklahoma.

These photographs show the original seat from my 1937 standard 5 window coup’e. This car was assembled in the Seaview Ford factory in Wellington New Zealand from a CDK imported from the Canadian Ford Windsor Plant.
I believe this vehicle was assembled in late 37 as the earlier 37 coup’s I have seen in NZ had a split seat configuration, where as mine has a lift back. My 37 coup’e seat was upholstered in leather, most I have seen were in beige fabric. |

Do you happen to know what years are the same. I like the one that hinges and is not split. Searching for one if you know anyone.

Okay! I know my 37 has a slide forward seat but unsure if it has a hinge option! Now I'm going to have to investigate.....

I'll have to say that a split back bench is much more user friendly than one that the back is hinged at the top, flip up style.
I sold the seat assembly in my 36 coupe and replaced it with a 38 Tudor split back bench seat. WAY better access and convenience. Also moved the mounting points back about 2 inches and narrowed the package tray to accommodate. I'm 6'2" MUCH better now! |
