I am working on a 32 V8 engine. The gear that came with the engine looks fine but I don’t know the history. I have some new old replacement gears. I would like opinions whether to put a replacement fiber gear on or leave well enough alone. I would be interested in and be more confident with a new aluminum gear. I want to keep the 32 cam.
Opinions welcomed. |

From my perspective, I just don't rust any of the fiber gears at this point. Maybe they'll work fine (given the limited spring pressure of a 32 engine), but why take a chance. I'd find an aluminum press on gear and go that route if it was mine.
