I need to remove the lower distributor shaft on my 2 piece style distributor (the shaft that runs from the upper shaft to the oil pump drive gear). Can anone tell me how to go about doing this? How do you remove the spring? And how do you take the shaft out? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no spring on the shaft itself I use a magnet if not stuck. The drive gear has the spring by removing the side valve cover to access.

Gary, thanks for the quick response. Yea I just figured this out. It was just stuck so I took the valve cover off and grabed it from the underside and worked it out.

That post was 11 years ago. Don’t hold your breath waiting for a response.
