I leave around 5AM 7 days a week to open the shop. I always drive maybe 3-4 miles, thats good for any vehicle. Now the warning is four times this week out of no where deer comes charging across the road usually 3 or 4. even though I am going llike 20 mph on a pitch dark rode, you best be on ya toes. It seems to happen from Oct. Nov December around here in N England. Even though my 46 built like a tank still they will do damage..sam maybe its mating season I don't know

Yep, the rut is on right now and the does are running for the bucks. The bucks are chasing the does and will stop at nothing. It's like wild life version of high school. LOL!

Up where I live (north of Brainerd), if you haven't hit a deer, you must be a tourist.

Hitting a deer is bad, but hitting a 1200 pound moose can rip the top off a car!

I hit a deer in the first week of November a few years ago. I didn't kill it, but I badly injured it. I called the local police. They responded by sending a policeman to the scene. He took 4 shots to kill the deer. I asked him, "did you shoot it in the leg. or what." ?

A few years ago, a friend of mine, Dave, happened upon a car/deer collision. When the cops showed up, Dave asked the cop if he could put the animal out of it's misery. The cop said yes, Dave took his knife out and cut the deer's jugular, blood was squirting everywhere, Dave said the cop got white as a sheet. I bet, the next time the cop calls animal control.
