Having just had the F1 Grand Prix here last weekend and F1 seemingly gaining new new interest from the Netflix series "Drive to Survive".
Thought I'd have a look at some old videos. The 1934 one is interesting as it was obviously a changing of the guard technically and politically.

Thanks for the links. Some great footage. Where are these cars now? And why aren't they in my garage?

The winning cars were saved by the manufacturers. The losers were robbed of useful parts and junked. Some amateur cars have survived. I had a T board track racer that was built and raced in the bay area of CA. It had been restored and competed in the first 18 Monterey Historic races. F1 is gaining fans is due to Liberty Entertainment wanting to turn it into a cash cow. They've invested a lot and want a big return. I liked the shots of Monaco the oldest F1 track still in use - every 2 years they run a historic race there next one is 2024 - still enough time to save some $$$ to go - it's pricey. https://www.monacograndprixhistoric.com/
