After trying center 32 hood hinges from several venders, I took the
advice from a ford barner and reached out to Rootlieb. Tryed one of their hinges. Fits perfectly. Fits both their reproduction hood and well as original. I miked it against an original and was spot on. The ones made by Vintique and Drake are junk. Thanks to everyone with their advice. |

Glad to hear this. I'll have to order one as the repro hinge in my original hood is crappy.

Does the Rootlieb 32 hood hinge have the sharp peak down the center the same as an original Ford hood hinge?

I would give up the peak for a hinge that works like Henry designed.

Tom,
If you want the original, there are five or six times more of the '33-'36 version out there including lots that are damaged on one end beyond repair that can be cut down to the requisite 32 inches, peak and all. Last edited by DavidG; 02-22-2023 at 08:08 AM. |

If anyone reading this thread has a 33-36 with cracks on the ends, give me a PM.

David, I never thought to do that. Now I feel bad for all the cracked ended 33-36 I have trashed over the years

Took two damaged 32 hood hinges to a local welding shop. One had a crack about an inch and a half long on one end. He did a great job, not cheap but I'm pleased. The other one had chunks missing from one end. He said he could fix it if I could provide donor patches from another hinge. That will have to wait.
