My 38 conv Sedan has three holes (triangle shape) centered in the area between the top of the trunk and opening for the convertible top.
What are those holes for?? |

A picture would help.

They’re located in the narrow area between the trunk opening and the convertible top location, in between where the exterior trunk hinges are located on the body.

Yes the part is available. Carpenter is the source. I think I have one in stock.

Karl, What purpose does that serve? I'd never noted this before.

Mike,
Its purpose was to cushion the rear window frame when the top is down so that the window assembly is not resting directly on the upper back panel (and banging around with every bump in the road). How effective it was given its modest size relative to the size of the window frame, is likely open to debate. |
