Default 1930 Tudor windshield frame help

I just installed a new wood header in my 30 tudor. I put the metal header cap on and am getting ready to install the windshield frame. I noticed though the the holes in the header cap don't fully cover the wood header or that the wood header isn't long enough. is this a common issue? Do you install the frame hinge screws on an angle into the header? Thanks Chris.

I recently did a complete top wood on my 30 Tudor. My header was slightly oversize and was hand fitted to my car. I would consult with the people where your header came from
