Default TBG trunk

Seeing the recent trunk thread got me thinking - who else is fortunate to have a Tres Burro Garage trunk on their A? http://www.tresburrosgarage.com/Trunks.html

The website notes that Bill Dohnke passed away. He built 57 trunks. Mine is a work of art that shows real craftsmanship.

I don't know if this is a TBG built trunk or not, but it looks similar to yours. I think this one was built before the TGB started building them because it was built using square nails. This one was in sad shape, but I was able to use a lot of the original wood and metal pieces from it for the restoration. Anyone have an idea of when it might have been built and what it was put on.

I've only seen a couple other of the TBG trunks and they both had the same interior material as mine.

Does anyone know where to get the leather trim pieces (corners) and other accessories? I have made a trunk out of plywood (curved top) and now would like to get the trim parts hinges and latches. Ed

I don't think you can get the leather trim pieces for the corners or at least I couldn't find them, so I ordered leather from Etsy and made them myself. If you order leather, make sure that you get it thick enough to use on the corners.

Wet leather can be stretched around corners.

I am thinking about using felt on the inside of the one I did. I am trying to figure out what glue to use and would like to hear what others have use to this and how well it worked for them.

I've used 3M spray adhesive w/good results on similar applications.
