Progress!!! The painted cab is on the frame, The wood is in place and there are several long bolts dropped from the cab thru the wood and into the holes on the frame.
My friend is stuck---he doesn't remember where the springs go and how many he should have. Was there any padding or shim between the front cab bolts and the frame? The wood starts somewhat to the rear of those front bolts. Thanks |

There is rectangle oil impregnated pads on the wood where the bolts go through. On both the top and bottom of the wood. They are stapled onto the wood.
The front bolt has the same pad. The springs are on the front bolts and the back bolts. They have a washer and a castle nut and a cotter pin. This is for a 1936 -- I dont believe that they changed through 1939. |

I also remember those front/rear cab springs being slightly different and there were some changes mid year for my 39 with the cab wood. 38 should not be an issue. Good luck and let us know how thing bolt back up, we like pictures here on Fordbarn ![]() |
