Brentwood Bob Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: brentwood, ca Posts: 4,420	Rebuilding shocks have a mystery fluid, what is it? In the cores I am rebuilding there are a set of rebushed ones. I am thinking they might be the Apple Rebuilds. They are filled with a black, rubbery fluid. Brake cleaner cuts it(solvent). Guess I will buy some of Apple's hydraulic fluid to see. Anyone have an opinion? Might be graphite grease, just a mystery.
