Default Flathead v8 engine bearings

I have got some flathead v8 rod bearings and I have all the original parts books but the bearings I have say 48 6211 x4 my books have 48 6211 x in them but not the 4 what does the 4 stand for? Thanks

most likely the 4 is an A which is standard

No Lawrie, I don't think that is right....from memory, the 48-6211-X denotes std outside dia/ .002 u/s on the rod journal, and the 4 probably denotes the bearing material. There is a similar thread on here recently;
[ https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315809 ] about bearings with a Q5 suffix, and in that case the 5 denoted copper lead....somewhere amongst all my literature, I have a list of all those suffix's and the bearing material they denote, that someone on here posted some years ago. Of course, now I am trying to find it in order to give a definitive answer, I cannot find it!! typical!!

48-6211 X4 is a tin base babbitt bearing Std rod size & .002 on the crankpin
