My 1949 F1 recently started stalling on my last few road runs. 15-20 miles, stalls and then it will start again.
Runs perfect for a few miles and stalls again. Any suggestions... |

Does it restart right away. If so, probably fuel filter.
If you have to let it sit for a while, maybe vapor lock or the coil. |

How long do you have to sit before it will start again?

Let it sit a home for two days, yesterday it started and ran just fine, again today it started just fine, This stalling started about two weeks ago, I finally got home, next trip I drove twenty miles but did not make it home.... |

Do not rule out debris in the tank. Had a problem with this. Drove me nuts until I drained the tank with a cheese cloth in the funnel in a 5 gallon jug. Start it up and when it stalls around your property, take the line off the pump and blow back. Quick check.

Check that the tank cap is vented ,and take a (as said )spare coil and swap it out

+1 on coil as possible culprit

Agree with condenser heating up and failing or clogged fuel filter. Electronics can work fine cold and fail when hot, so if it takes a cool down period to start again, then suspect condenser etc,
Do you have a Pertronix Ignitor? |

Another unsolved mystery- they never follow thru with the actual problem, but are great at hollering HELP before even looking at the basics!
