sad 35 fordor
This 35 fordor was a 1 owner survivor in the 1980s in outback Queensland. The original owner was visiting family in the outback and when he arrived he went inside for dinner while the grandkids played in the car. They accidently set it on fire and it was burnt beyond repair. It sat on that property for another 10 years and one night a wild thunderstorm brought a large tree down right on top of the roof. It then was bought by a guy who at least kept it in a garage for 15 years. I'm using the parts to restore my phaeton. The fenders and running boards have no rust-out at all. The rear inner fenders and floor are straight. Front and rear bumpers easy re chrome. Sad to see an original car destroyed in such a way, but at least a good deal of parts will be recycled into a restorer. Will post more pics as parts come together. Will be slow as this is for the 2nd phaeton, but at least there's a plan there!!!
Any other bad luck stories out there? |

Ted sometimes bravery and insanity has a similar ring to it!!! That seat is sure to come in handy at some stage during this project.

Lawrie the 35 fordor above was actually burnt at Winton. I'm not sure where it originally came from. I drove out to Blackall to get it 12 months ago. |
