I have a relatively new reproduction Rex-A-Co Temperature Gauge in one of my Model A's that has stopped working. Has anyone had this experience and found a fix?

Bob,
I also have a Rex A Co gauge that I've had for over a year. It hasn't failed but I'm concerned about its accuracy. Although my car has never steamed over or spit coolant out the overflow tube indicating an overheating condition, it tends to show the temperature in the "Danger" area of the gauge on warmer days here in Texas, but normal on cooler days. I have checked my temp with a laser thermometer when the engine is at full operating temperature and it doesn't seem to show any cause for alarm. I'm wondering if it's calibration is off. I hope you are able to find a fix for yours. Keep us posted.

I have had mixed results with the laser gun... Find a guy in your local club that has one of those thermometers you can drop in the radiator. Fill it up, and drop it in. Then compare the gage inside the car.

Put the sensor end in a pot of boiling water and see what it reads. Should be 212f

The needle is stuck at 140F on my Rex-A-C0 gauge. I suspect that the line from the sensor probe to the gauge has an issue. More to follow.

I had one stop working a few years ago. I took it to my local instrument repair shop where they fixed it but it cost as much as a new one.
My advice is "buy a new one".

Even at my age, I still like to look at a young, attractive woman but I can't really remember why.
