Transmission hump oval hole plug
So I can find the 1.5 inch and 1,25 inch plugs but cannot find the oval plug anywhere. It measures 3.7 x 1.93 inches. Only thing I find is part number 12128. I can find this at Larrys T-Bird but does not say it will work on the car also. Anyone know if this is the same as for the full size car?

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...82a94d587a.jpg Just a picture for reference. 73 to 79 Ford trucks, right in the center of the cowl is oblong rubber plug. Not sure if its your exact size, but they all have one. 2 more of another size on the sides of the cowl down lower.

Re: Transmission hump oval hole plug
They do not have it. The ones in the link are smaller then the original.
I found one at Larrys T-Bird but do not know if it will work on the full size car. Inquired to see what they say. Last edited by 56sedandelivery; 04-05-2022 at 12:28 PM. |

Re: Transmission hump oval hole plug
Where does the plug go, on the trans tunnel or floor pan?

As near as my trifocals can see my trusty tape measure, this hole in the trans hump of a '57 Bird measures 3 & 5/8 by 1 & 15/16 inches. Last edited by dmsfrr; 04-05-2022 at 08:42 PM. |

Re: Transmission hump oval hole plug
For everyone's knowledge the one for the T-Bird is the same as for the car. Bought one and it is a perfect fit. Only difference I see is the original has a metal insert in it and the new one does not.
