Anyone have one they want to sell? I was finally putting my front end back together yesterday and somehow one of mine has screwed up threads. Not sure how its possible since they've been sitting in a ziploc bag inside one of the hubcaps but it happened. Contacted Shoebox Central but they said they pulled and sold all they had

I have lots of junk here, if you tell what wrench size it is, and the thread count and hole size we can figger it out

Since the book says it uses a 09067 bearing the spindle likely has 3/4-16 threads and the spindle nut used on '36-'48 cars and '48-? F series trucks should work.
Sorry wrong thread pitch, supposed to be 16 not 20; and I knew that. Last edited by rich b; 02-24-2022 at 01:43 AM. |

From memory, the early ones are tall, and later ones are short with a larger wrench size, like whats pictured. I should have one. Whats the wrench size ?

A brief search shows me an old tall one, 1 1/8 wrench, and the short one, .590 tall, takes a 1 1/4 wrench, but both are 3/4 16 thread. 3/4 20 is odd, not listed on my tap and die chart on the wall. could be the difference?

Yes, if it is 3/4 16 NF it should be an easy thing. 3/4 20, not so much

A: No. There is two different nuts for the early Ford spindles. 1928-35 Have a larger (taller) nut. In 1936, Ford went to a shorter castle nut. All threads are the same (3/4-16) See > Q&A's at https://prewarford.com/blogs/technic...identification |

Good post Pete, now for fun we'll play "can you spot the nuts", like where's waldo. So, yeah, I've been doing some plumbing...I'll clean the bench tomorrow...well, by friday at least. But here's the short and tall, both ford items, both 3/4-16. This is my last post or too many people will be talkin about my nuts. If you find the thread count is correct, send me your address and I'll get it in the mail

Those who said 16 thread were correct. I went to the local Ace to try and find a replacement. All they have is 3/4-10 nuts that looked way more coarse than this. I PMed you Cas3. Thanks everybody. Take care

If all else fails, try McMaster-Carr.
