It's been some time ago, but I remember seeing someone selling glass or transparent plastic lenses for banjo rear ends to make pole lights. Anyone remember these, hard pressed to find a pic of one...

Dang. I've been saving an old center section to do the same.

I have a hunch that " banjo pole lights' refers to the literally fitting an old banjo rear center section and housing with a clear lens on each side so that it can be converted to an electric ornamental light. Look here:

.
Some really neat creations in that link above that Jim posted. But using my 'sub-par' imagination, I was picturing something more along the lines of this.....MINUS the dinky little lights on top...bulb INTERNAL! DD |

You mean like these? I bought these at Hershey many years ago and with a junk banjo and wasted torque tube made this light for my shop. 33 V8 on one side 40 V8 (std) on the other.

These lenses were vacuum formed out of a white plastic or plexiglas about 3/16" thick. The logos were not stickers but painted or silkscreened on. If the guy doesn't make them anymore, it would be a good product to make but the screening or painting of the logos could be relatively expensive (seems like you would need a license) or difficult on the curved surface. Maybe lack of a license could be why they aren't around anymore.

Probably even more alternatives today with modern tech. such as printers, flame cut all metal logo's etc. seems every swap meet, flea market , craft show etc. has some sort of new generation choices.
