Default Attaching Text Document?

Is there a way to attach a text document (Microsoft Word) to a thread without scanning a copy into an image?

Could you cut and paste. Copy the word document and then come into Forbbarn and paste it? Not sure if that is what you mean?

Just for kicks, I uploaded this one. I had first to change it to a .txt document. Didn't come out very well. So then I saved it as a .pdf then it looks OK, but you can't change or add to it like you could in Word. BTW, this was all done in Word 2010 with no add-ons.

This is something I pulled off Vince Falters web site.

There is an awful lot of helpful information in the FAQ.

Paul,

1. Open the Word document ... (besure cusor is inside the Word window where text is located).

2. Hold Control key down and at sametime strike the " A " key. (AKA "Select ALL")
A Side Note: you can also left click mouse button and hold it down then drag the cursor (Cursor looks like an "I Beam") to select text although it takes some practice to use this method).

3. Release both keys, this will make the text in Word document turn the color blue.

4. Control C (copy) this will copy the highlighted info into a temporary area called the "clipboard".

5. Open Ford Barn and create a new posting or reply to an existing one.

6. Put cursor where you want the text that you copied into the clipboard to appear.

7. Hit Control V (paste) and paste info into the posting.

Here are some letters that I copied from a Word doc directly to this posting:

Flahfahpaspoahpf

Gggggg

Ggggggg

ggggg

This is called "Cut and paste" ... if you forget this info just click help menu and enter "cut and paste"
as 31 Tudor mentioned above
