Default Mystery seat risor.

Found this in the barn today. I know it's a seat risor from a Ford but the side pieces seem odd . 9 inch returns that slope up slightly on the bottom .Seat plugs are 40 1/8 inches apart. 51 1/8 long on the top.Any ideas ! Thankyou . Mike in Mass

Not certain of exact application but am 99% certain it is back seat, most likely open car.

Do the side pieces appear to have been modified?

Doesn't look original. Looks like it is made out of "chip board".

TJ, I think it's authentic. They appear just like that as the finish has worn / fallen away through the past decades.

Mike thanks. I also failed to notice the dowls on the front portion to keep the seat base from sliding forward.

Thankyou for all the replies. We have a 35 Roadster in the family. No Phaetons though. That's a 30 year " protective
coating of Chicken Dust" covering the piece. Thankyou very much for the replies

I had a '38 Ford pickup and the seat cushion riser looked very much like that.
The wood bottom of the cushion had a few drilled holes, all in a row in the wood, and you could adjust the forward & backward movement of the cushion, by placing the holes onto the round metal dowels protruding upward close to each end of the riser, and the cushion would then hold that position, until you hit a big pothole, then you had to stop and re-adjust the seat cushion.
