Looking for some info on Badger grinding and Babbitt . As I believe I have a 33-34 short block that was done by them and never used. This block has been in a heated tool and die shop for 40 plus years and plenty of oil in the air. This would be going into a 33 pheaton and should I find a later motor. Thank you

Does it have studs-nuts or bolts that drop in from the valley with nuts holding the main caps on ?
Is there a vent in front valley ? Is there a raised tower around the fuel pump pushrod bushing ? Nothing wrong with 33-34 motors IF IN GOOD ORDER !!!!! |

This is the tag on the motor and can see it was rebuilt poured and ground. So know I need to find bearing for the connecting rods . I checked a few places for the parts needed but I couldn’t find any .030 bearing any ideas a source?

Just a thought.. .030" Bearings will cost you a arm and a leg IF you find them. What I did last time, was pulled the crank, had the rod journals spray welded and ground back to Standard. It cost me $220 to have this done and I was able to use Standard sized bearings which are everywhere. Just a thought in case you can;t find any. We may have some .030 +.008" but I am not sure today
Follow Sheldon's advice and check eBay as well.. |
