Default emergency brake band springs

got a quick rear backing plate question, are the two springs that attach from the emergency brake band to the emergency band carrier the same as the short brake shoe springs? I am assembling a basket case, and my basket is full of parts from several cars, so I have no reference.

Nope they're different. They're more of a lighter duty spring meant to keep it in a certain location, not really meant to retract the spring like the brake shoe springs.

Look them up in a catalog, you'll see. Go to Bratton's online catalog or others.

And be sure to hook the springs in the holes farthest from the backing plate. If hooked into the holes next to the carrier they can catch and bind.
