I am ready to install the gasket that goes on the bottom and two sides of the windshield frame. It seems that it can be installed in two different ways. I need to get feedback as to which way it goes.
Also, the side of the windshield frame has a screw & nut at the top of the frame. I assume that the rubber gasket needs to be notched out where the screw & nut are located. I also assume that the gasket needs to be notched out first, then it needs to be installed into the frame-THEN the screw & nut are installed?

Your assumptions are right. The rubber also must be notched where the screw and nut goes through. notched then put in place, then the screw and nut installed.

Fred,
You will need to cut a miter where the two side pieces meet the bottom piece. If you have stretched the rubber at all during instllation, let it relax a day or two before cutting the miter joint. You can use a dab of super glue on the miter joints to hold the side pieces to the bottom piece. Dave |

Thanks Dave--do the pictures look like I am correct with the way I am installing the gasket?

I used soapy water just in case I need to glue the gasket to the frame. I know that I need to super glue the bottom corners as well. so I don't want oil on the rubber.

IIRC, my kit came with a tube of glycerine which you use to liberally grease the bulb/channel.
The warning about doing the miters is apt. I let mine sit two days and set it out in the sun for at least one of those days. It was still shrinking on the 2nd day. Joe K
