Maybe you'll find someone to do it for a $1 a mile, probably on an open trailer, but it is still likely to be close to $3K given the distance.

Wrong time of the year and long distance=big $$$.
My last 2 projects were bought and shipped before Thanksgiving.
More people are willing to haul in decent wether.

I've had a couple of cars hauled from Nebraska to Ca, about 1700 miles and the quotes have been around 1800 to 2000 in an enclosed hauler but that's been a few years ago. I've used Reliable and Fed X

Recently used Iron Auto Transport who brokered shipping my 30 Tudor from Virginia to Tucson Arizona area. Great service, picked up in VA on Friday, delivered to me in AZ the following Sunday morning. Open transport, all in good shape on arrival. Drivers were pleasant and called me with updates en-route.
Arron (owner) at Iron Auto Transport was very helpful and quickly got the dates and car changed when the first deal fell through. Charged me a total of $1050 for the cross country haul. Here is his email address.

If it's a halfway decent car you DO NOT want an open transport any time. Check with Truly Vintage who advertises on here. I think he has an enclose trailer. I doubt you will find anyone who will do the job for less than $3000.

Especially at this time of the year with salt used on the roads for most of the likely route that would be taken. Lake-effects snow is a very real prospect all the way from Boston to Chicago.

I personally am on vacation till the 1st of January to spend time with family & friends, as well as work on a couple of my own

I would have to agree with Bills Auto Works . I drive my own commercial truck on a occasional basis and do haul vehicles. I would think that winter transportation may be a better time to transport than in the summer. Less vehicle activity than summer months and maybe better deals out there .

Winter is here - that actually has real world meaning in the Northeast.

Some folks however - live in their own little world - they disregard
the reality of winter weather driving.

Right now I am in Oregon - in my trailer is this 1915 Stanley Steam
Mountain Wagon that I picked up in Pennsylvania.

I took I-70 west to I-44 & then I-40 west to Hwy 99 in CA.

Then north on I-5 once I hit Sacramento.

I don’t take unnecessary risks with my equipment or vehicles I transport.

I have actually been in business since 2006 with a website I personally
wrote the code for - my unsolicited feedback is from my actual customers.

Buying a car 3000 miles away from where you live is not the best idea.

Even less of a good idea in the Winter.

If you buy a car in the Northeast - you should wait until Spring and fly out to drive it home ( if possible ) or go after it yourself with a trailer

I do not risk my equipment on icy roads to transport vehicles - you end up off the road either in a ditch or waiting out a storm at a truck stop.

Folks in Massachusetts generally are not having cars hauled in
from other states in Winter - they are hunkered down until Spring.

You have to drop off a vehicle before you can pick one up.
