What is this bolt for? 1941 pickup. I’ve seen it unused on other pickups too.

Did they ever have the battery hold down bolt on that side?

That’s an interesting idea. I just looked again and although the battery tray is mounted lower on the passenger side, there is a bolt mirrored on the passenger side which is the battery ground post. Maybe some configuration or some option grounded there?

Probably for battery hold down or ground strap for the 6 cylinder models. The battery changed sides on the 6 cylinder cars and pickups were probably the same.
