Exclamation 1946-1948 Ford/Mercury Convertible top mechanism hitting interior trim cover

After re-installing the convertible frame mechanism, one side is hitting the interior trim cover; that covers the rear seating area. This is only hitting on one side.

I'm using new cylinders, new springs, and a new pump. There isn't any air in the system. How can I adjust this frame mechansim so it doesn't hit please?

I have attached two photos showing this hitting.
This is for a 1948 Mercury Convertible.

Thank you for any help
